Yesterday the CEO calls me into his office to have a impromptu meeting
In the short notice he announce that the company is changing direction and will laid off half of my department’s team member, only keep few people to operate from now on.
I was shocked, even shocker more than if I was received a lay-off notice to myself
This was a team I built from zero, a team I cherry-pick every single member, a team of hardwork, competent people.
Damn this sucks!
Whatever the reasons are, I know the CEO is made up his mind and not gonna change the decision because behind him are stakeholders and advisors whom he trusted one thousands times more than me!
My team, I am so sorry, I will join you and left this company in few months shortly!
